Teeth grinding at night

[et_pb_section bb_built=”1″][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text]

Teeth grinding called bruxism is a psychosomatic disease caused by two factors – an occlusion factor and a psychic factor. The first one regards overloads within the masticatory system, which can be caused by poorly matched prosthetic restorations, fillings, crowns and habits, e.g. chewing gum. The second factor is long-term tension and stress. Teeth grinding has serious consequences not only in the mouth but also in the entire human body. Localized abrasions of tooth enamel, periodontal damage, reduced occlusion (malocclusion) and temporomandibular joint dysfunction. The increased tension of the masseter and mimic muscles leads to problems related to headache (temporal and frontal area), neck, face – up to the spine, shoulder girdle or ankle. After bruxism diagnosis, you need to contact your doctor to determine the causes and apply treatment.
