How to cure a periodontal pocket?

[et_pb_section bb_built=”1″][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text]

Periodontal pockets are a symptom of periodontal disease. Inflammatory changes in the gums most often lead to loss of connective tissue attachment and bone tissue, which is the reason for the deepening of tissue destruction surrounding teeth and the formation of pockets around the teeth. Bacteria accumulate in the resulting periodontal pocket, which breaks down food debris, leading to an increase in inflammation that destroys the tissues around the teeth. We are dealing with the so-called vicious disease wheel of parodontosis. Patients then complain of pain, bleeding, swollen gums, bad mouth odour, loosening of teeth. There are many causes of periodontal disease and its symptoms, which are periodontal pockets. One of them is traumatic bite, another is poor hygiene, which causes plaque formation. Genetic or iatrogenic factors, which are the result of complications of conservative, prosthetic or orthodontic treatment of teeth, may also affect this state of affairs. The treatment of periodontal pockets is first and foremost causal therapy, i.e. oral hygiene instruction (and its implementation!), anti-inflammatory drugs, removal of concomitant causes (overhanging seals, lack of contact points between fillings). After causal therapy for deep pockets, corrective treatment is carried out, which helps shallowing them. Comprehensive causal and corrective treatment, along with follow-up visits, gives a chance to cure the disease and comfort the patient’s continued functioning. From this point of view, the semi-liquid diet would be a significant impediment to everyday life. Proper filling (or fillings) and periodontal healing are the only rational and effective solutions to the above problem.
